Key Requirements
- Designed by a qualified person for loads and configuration
- Erected and dismantled under supervision of a competent person
- Inspected before each shift by a competent person
- Guardrails, midrails, and toeboards on open sides
- Full planking or decking on working levels
- Access provided (ladders, stairs, or ramps)
- Base plates and mud sills on stable surfaces
- Ties and braces to prevent tipping
Scaffold Types
- **Supported scaffolds** — platforms supported by legs (frame, system)
- **Suspended scaffolds** — platforms hung from overhead supports
- **Mobile scaffolds** — supported on wheels or casters
- **Aerial lifts** — cherry pickers, boom lifts
