Punch List Tracking
The systematic process of creating, assigning, monitoring, and closing out punch list items through to project completion.
What is Punch List Tracking?
Punch list tracking is the systematic process of managing punch list items from creation through resolution. It ensures every deficiency is documented, assigned, corrected, verified, and closed before final payment.
The Process
- **Create** — identify and document each item with photos
- **Assign** — assign to the responsible subcontractor
- **Prioritize** — severity-rate each item
- **Schedule** — plan the correction timeline
- **Execute** — subcontractor corrects the item
- **Verify** — inspector confirms the correction
- **Close** — item marked as closed
Tracking Metrics
- Items created vs closed (trend chart)
- Items by severity (critical, major, minor)
- Items by trade/subcontractor
- Average time to close
- Outstanding items by area
How SpaceCapture Helps
SpaceCapture provides real-time punch list tracking dashboards, automated assignment and notification, and photo-verified closure — eliminating the spreadsheets and paper-based tracking that slow down closeout.
